The Siemens Technology Accelerator (STA) commercializes innovative non-core Siemens technologies by creating start-ups, or through the sale or licensing of the technology. STA implements the complete technology transfer process, from the creation of a business plan, to finding partners and pilot clients, and conducting negotiations with external investors or buyers. STA retains its stake and continues to support the founded spin-off company until the company's sale or public listing. Our extensive expertise enables us to create a solid, sustainable foundation for innovative and profitable technology start-ups.
As a Venture Manager, you are responsible for one or more of these external commercialization projects. Your tasks include evaluating the business potential of an innovative technology through in-depth analyses of the technology, markets and competitors, and by identifying potential key customers and partners for the project.
You are also responsible for creating a business concept for the external commercialization of the technology. For start-ups your responsibilities include developing the business plan, recruiting the start-up team, and providing support and assistance to the company, building the foundation and paving the way for the first financing round.
For sale or licensing projects, you are responsible for the M&A process.
You hold a degree in a science or technology, preferably physics, electrical engineering or information technology. Ideally, you have completed an additional course of study in business management, hold an MBA or have equivalent experience.
You have at least three years of experience with operational responsibility in a high-tech company, plus appropriate experience in the preparation and completion of transactions (spin-off, sale or licensing). You are also familiar with business plan development for technology-based business models, and with dealing with international partners.
You find it easy to quickly and fully grasp new technologies and their applications, and you think entrepreneurially, with a strongly structural and strategic approach. You are assertive, pragmatic and you focus on solutions with enthusiasm and stamina. You are also business-fluent in written and spoken German and English.
